Whether you’re a sports car enthusiast or just a person who happens to like cars, there is no denying that there’s something special about luxury vehicles. Perhaps is the way they make us feel or maybe it’s the idea of luxury that gets people excited, we don’t know. The likes of Jaguar and Lamborghini are among the most popular sports car manufacturers however today we are going to look at something a little more unique. We are of course talking about the spectacular Maybach Exelero.

Built in 2004, the Exelero is a 700 hp (522 kW) four-seater with a twin turbo V12 engine. It was built on request for Fulda Tires, the German division of Goodyear. Although it was received very well by the public as well as sports car enthusiasts, unfortunately only one Exelero was ever made. This makes it one of the rarest vehicles in existence.

Capable of reaching a top speed of 218 mph, the Exelero attracted a lot of attention when it was reportedly purchased by rapper Birdman for a whopping $8 million. This was never confirmed however if it’s true, it would make the Maybach Exelero the most expensive vehicle in the world.

In 2012, Motorvision profiled the car revealing that at the time it was owned by Mechatronik and located in Germany.

Overall, the Maybach Exelero is a truly unique vehicle that definitely earned its spot among the best sports cars ever made.

So what do you think? Would you consider buying and Exelero if you had the money and it was available to the masses? Let us know and feel free to share this article with your friends if you liked it.
