Today we are looking at a concept car produced by the brand in 2003. The Cadillac Sixteen received an extremely positive response upon reveal, with many hoping that it would enter production at some point. Unfortunately, it’s been over 15 years since the vehicle was first showcased and the brand hasn’t made any plans as of yet to introduce a production version of the car.
There’s no denying that Cadillac is one of the most luxurious brand on the planet. Just look at the brand’s vehicles and you’ll understand what we mean. Throughout the years, the luxury carmaker has produces a number of vehicles that raised the bar and elevated the brand to another level. Although the likes of Rolls-Royce and Bentley are usually considered to be the best at luxury, Cadillac is not far behind.
The Cadillac Sixteen concept came with a 13.6-litre 32-valve V16 engine capable of producing 1000hp. It was quite powerful, which definitely reflected in the car’s styling.
Although the Sixteen looked very elegant and stylish it also had an edge to it, which is what made it stand out. It was a truly intriguing piece of engineering, one that appealed to a variety of different people. The elegant and luxury aspect made it quite popular with those after a high-end vehicle, and it’s powered definitely appealed to fans of speed and high-performance.
It’s believed that the Sixteen was shelved due to the fact that the brand decided to go with the Cadillac XTS, which entered production in 2012.
The Cadillac Sixteen was an incredible concept and we’re disappointed that it never entered production. Fortunately for us, the brand currently offers a fantastic line up of various models so you’re guaranteed to find something you’ll like.
